Jama Onwubuariri is currently the Head Legal and Company Secretary to OES Energy Services Ltd. Jama practiced with the commercial law firm of Adepetun Caxton-Martins Agbor & Segun (ACAS), an integrated, full-service law firm in Lagos, Nigeria. He had advised on a wide range of corporate, commercial and legal compliance and employee matters for international exploration, oil service, engineering and construction and logistics companies in relation to acquisition of interests in oil block concessions.
He joined the Oando Plc legal team in 2011 and led various legal projects, incluuding the review of Nigeria’s most complicated draft petroleum legislation, the PIB.
Jama was promoted to Legal Advisor with Oando Energy Services Limited in 2012 and following the change of the company’s ownership in 2016, was appointed Head Legal and Company Secretary for OES Energy Services Limited. Currently, Jama is responsible for the Legal and Compliance team of the Company.
Jama is fluent in English, Igbo, American Sign Language, and French. He holds an LL.b (Civil Law) degree from the University of Calabar and a B.L. (Barrister-at-Law) Degree from the Nigerian Law School.
